RAHISI

The grullo stag walked calmly into and throughout the scrubland that was known as The Badlands. His thoughts well-collected and organized into a single vision; hooves came to an abrupt halt whilst dark orbs stared forward at the lonely land. The land was equine-less, the only scents here were of the wildlife and the wind. The quiet was not haunting, more like a pleasant retreat. He had not known what to expect while traveling to the land of Siri, but so far it was proving to be quite to his liking. The lands were beautiful, and lush, with teeming wildlife. The equines seemed to be in short supply, but for the moment, he was perfectly fine with that.
A small creek ran nearby, he could hear its' gently rushing waters pushing over stones and branches. Walking nimbly toward it, he lowered his cranium to about knee level and drew in a sharp, long breath. The air was heavy with spring, it seemed to push down on him with its' freshness. Lifting his view, he spotted the creek - its' waters were clear, you could see straight through to the bottom. Parting his kissers slightly, he sipped the water at first, tingling at the chill, before taking a few small gulps. Upon lifting his zenith, he could feel droplets of the cold water dripping down from the corners of his mouth and slipping onto his long whiskers before falling to the ground with an incoherent splash.
Moving back out to the plains and away from the waters' edge, he looked around once more for any other quadrupeds or predators. Spotting none, Rahisi continued his trek across the barren land to find a nice grazing spot. He picked up his pace to an easy lope, finding the terrain very easy to travel over. He came across the occasional small herd of mule deer, who would fly out over the badlands with surprising speed. One herd he came upon ran alongside him for a few paces before turning and retreating in the opposite direction. A chuckle escaped his maw, and he tossed his cranium back into his self-created wind. Ahead, he saw a fairly lush grazing area. Calling upon the muscles within his limbs, he shot forward at an amazing speed, sliding into a surprisingly graceful stop. He lifted himself high onto his hind legs, pawing fiercely at the air before settling himself down for a nice, quiet meal.
