GENERAL

» Shades Of Gray is an open intermediate role-playing site. You must be able to post at least 150 words in each of your 'in character' posts. Try to match who you're posting with though. Remember, quality over quantity!

» Please do not join and never log in. Please only join if you know you will be active.

» Follow all Proboards rules, we all know them so don't break them intentionally.

» Do not join with wacky names such as 'ilovehorsiees12347', I want to see creative and good looking names. It makes the site look neater.

» You have one week upon registering to create a character.

» Only one account per person.

» All new members will receive 5,000 points so they can start with some items from the shop!

» Be kind and respectful to every player, do not start unnecessary arguments or say disrespectful things to anyone.

» Do NOT pester other players to reply, they may be busy or be out of muse for that character. Give them time. If after one week they have not replied, feel free to send them a friendly reminder.

» There will be NO power-playing or god-moding. If you do not know what either of these are, ask.

» We are a semi-realistic site. Anything out of the 'norm' must be bought from the store, though. There will be NO unrealistic colors, however. Mixtures and Markings including exotic colors are allowed however.

» Avatars may be a maximum of 150 x 300, this was put here for your use and enjoyment. Don't ruin it.

» Cursing is allowed, but keep it PG-13. I don't want to see cursing every other word.

» The C-Box is there for your enjoyment, do not abuse it or it will be taken down.


» You can use whatever you like for you signature, it must not stretch the board though! If it stretches the board I will PM you and remove it until you can fix it.

» Please do not advertise your site in your profile/signature. We have an advertisements board for that.

» Be creative with your words! We have a list of RP Words to help you out if you need them!

» The native tongue of the land is Swahili. If you would like a name in the native tongue, simply go to Google translate.

» All posts MUST be in size 1. It just makes the forum look neater. Your characters name may be in larger fonts, but that is it.

PICTURES

» Images must be from Deviantart Stock, or Flickr (CC Licensed) or your application will not be accepted.

» Provide a link to the image underneath the image itself.

» If your character has a manipulation, the images must be stock, and be properly credited.

CLAIMING LAND

» Each person is allowed two main lands, and three sub-herd lands.

» In order to get a main herdland, you must buy a board from the Store and PM the admin with the name and description you would like for it. Or your character may challenge for one.

» To create a sub-herd land, your stallion must talk to the lead stallion of the main herdland IC first, then PM the admin the name and description.

FIGHTING

» If you power-play or god-mode, you will be disqualified.

» All genders and ranks may fight one another.

» Your horse must be over 2 Years to fight.

» Horses may fight over anything; mares, land, herd positions, breeding rights, or even simple annoyance.

» You get a maximum of five hits, and three dodges.

» Fighting may occur anywhere.

» After a fight, your character has a four day immunity to challenges.

» If members don't predetermine the outcome of the fight, a staff member will judge.

STEALING

» All characters may be stolen.

» Steals end exactly three days after they are posted.

» Stealing posts must have a minimum of four hints, there is no max, so feel free to go crazy!

» Each character is only allowed to block three other characters.

» Only leads and immediate family that live with the character being stolen may block.

» Horses must be at least two years old to be stolen.

» If your steal is successful, you must post the name of the character you have stolen, and the hints that led to said character.

» You are allowed a max of two steals per week. Be careful who you steal from though! If your stallion runs about stealing mares left and right, the other leads may gang together to take him down.

» If a herd has been stolen from, they are immune to steals for one week.

» After two weeks, the stolen character may be challenged for.

BREEDING / BIRTHING

» Breeding and birthing are allowed at all times of the year, though the highest chances of success are during spring or fall.

» Force-breeding is allowed as long as both parties have consented.

» Breeding/Birthing may take place anywhere.

» Your mare must wait a full in-game year before having her foal.

» When your female becomes pregnant, you must post in the Foal Stats board where I will roll a dice to determine all the stats of your future foal(s).

CHARACTERS

» You must wait to be accepted.

» No odd or fantasy features unless bought from the store.

» Mares and Stallions are not fully matured until three years old, and must be referred to as Fillies and Colts.

» At three years of age foals born on the site are eligible to receive items from the store.

» There is no character limit. Just make sure you make the number of characters you can handle. All characters MUST remain active. If I see a horse inactive for two weeks, I will ask you to role-play them, or give them up for adoption.

» Liquid time is allowed, do not keep your character in more then 3 threads at a time though.

» Do your research before creating! I don't want to see a 16hh Shetland of an 13hh Shire.

» You must wait for your character to be accepted before role-playing. Don't worry, it won't take long.

Claiming Horses

» All horses can be force-claimed.

» You may claim as many horses as you want.

» A herdless horse may also claim other horses.

» You cannot claim your own characters.

» You cannot challenge your own characters, or for your own character.

» If a horse already has a herd, they cannot be claimed.
